As summer vacation heads into its final weeks, people all over the country (especially in the South) start getting excited about the advent of football season. While NFL is a bigger deal in other areas of our nation, college football is practically a religion down here, and it heavily influences our calendars starting in late August through the end of the year. Southern brides planning fall weddings will consult major college football schedules when choosing a date to ensure that people will actually show up for their event, and even still, they can almost bank on some of the guests listening to games secretly with headphones while vows are being exchanged. I got married in May for a reason, y’all. We love football around here passionately, as well as its various social extensions, like tailgating, so it’s not surprising that all of the age groups and levels leading up to college are heavily supported here. Starting with Termite and Pee Wee football in grade school, boys and their families lives become intertwined with the season of the pigskin, and the social Friday Night Lights, anyone? Ever seen Varsity Blues? If so, I know you understand what I mean.
When Southern parents find out they’ll be having a little boy, they know that more than likely he will play at least one season of football (if he hates it) or that they will spend many years attending his practices and games. Not only do we enjoy football as a form of entertainment in our culture, parents seek to expose their sons to the important lessons that playing ball can teach them.

They work hard to gain speed and strength, learn to work well with others, the effects of their actions or inactions on those around them, and how to both win and lose with grace. Life skills, exercise, and an opportunity to be involved with the community and school motivate parents to send their boys out to practice each day.
One of the exciting things about playing football for a player is receiving his uniform. Earning it signifies a kid has worked hard enough to belong athletically, that sacred jersey identifies a boy as an official member of the team and is highly prized. After seeing him work hard at practices and likely talking him down from quitting a few times, his family is filled with pride when they see him suited up and ready to play.

It would be a huge blessing on those time crunched days to have an extra pair for each of them at our disposal, but it would take a miracle to get the nasty stains out that had been hanging out in the fibers since last season. I had given up hope.

Listen up, football moms, I have an amazing laundry hack for you! I have found the “unicorn” stain remover that I thought couldn’t possibly exist.
Meet OxiClean™ White Revive™.

After seeing how well OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover has conquered tough stain situations for us in the past, I couldn’t wait to see what its sister formula, OxiClean™ White Revive™ could do to rescue these pants.
Following the directions for heavily soiled items, I put one scoop of OxiClean™ White Revive™ per gallon of hot water with which I filled the sink to let the nasty football pants soak for the prescribed 6 hours. This is the Pre-Soak of Power, y’all.

I could immediately see the soaking water turning a dingy color as the dirt was yanked, kicking and screaming in my imagination, from the once beautifully-white pants. Soaking it in my laundry room sink made the entire house smell AMAZING, because OxiClean™ White Revive™ smells so fresh; my husband actually came in from work and commented on how nice it smelled in our home, and he’s not one to say that kind of thing.

I gave them a quick swish, swish to help them get saturated. After the 6 hours was up, I removed the pants and was amazed at the amount of stains that had vanished from its fibers.

It was time for the main event in the washing machine. I added my usual laundry detergent, plus a scoop of OxiClean™ White Revive™ (up to the 2nd line, as instructed) to the machine and washed the pants with hot water on a heavy wash cycle. I then said a prayer, and made supper for the kids while I waited to see the pants’ results.
It was BETTER than a Christmas Miracle!

These pants that my son wore for an entire football season look brand new, and he’s thrilled. Mamas with football-playing boys, this stuff is the real deal.
CHECK IT OUT!

Add OxiClean™ White Revive™ to your uniform-washing routine, and save yourself a lot of scrubbing time. You’ll also enjoy watching his games more because you’ll be less worried about the mud he’s diving into to recover a fumble and more excited that he just saved the day. Then, when you’re soaking those nasty football pants later with your OxiClean™ White Revive™, you’ll make your entire house smell great, which will likely drown out the sweaty football player smell. Double victory!
