Now He’s Rescuing the Girls on the Playground: Kindergarten Wiles

By: Jessica Azar My son, Sundance, the one that was Stretching to Run from the Girls the other day, came home from school today with more playground reports. He said, “Mama, I had to defend several girls on the playground today.” I sighed, and momentarily closed my eyes, and said “Why, son? Who was bothering them? What did you do?”, bracing myself for the latest installment. He’s figuring out the cache of being charming and kind to females… But I’m trying to make sure he’s doing what he does for altruistic reasons. I don’t want heartbroken girls calling him at all hours and egging our house when he’s a teenager. “He said D and L (two little boys in a younger class… They have combined playground time) were chasing A and V (two younger girls) and they wouldn’t stop. The girls did NOT like it…. So I told D and L to back off. It worked for a little while, but the they started chasing the girls again and I had to step in (YES he said ‘step in’).” I asked him what the girls did when he “stepped in”, and he said they hugged and thanked him (yep) and…
