Shotgun Shell Lights for Christmas DIY

If you’re looking for a fun way to give your Christmas tree a more rustic look, or are using a hunting/country living them for your Holiday decor, or just have a ton of empty shotgun shells sitting around after Dove hunting season, I have the perfect plan for you. You need to make Shotgun Shell Lights! These can be used at Christmas, but are fun to decorate your patio or other places year-round. You’re going to need Shotgun Shells, a String of White Christmas Lights, a Glue Gun and Glue Sticks for the Glue Gun. How many Shotgun Shells, you say? It all depends on the size of the light strand you use. I used an 100 light strand, so 50 Shotgun Shells was the magic number for my project. I recommend you only put Shotgun Shells on every other light, because otherwise the strand of lights will become way too heavy on the tree, and also allowing individual light bulbs in between the Shotgun Shell Covered ones makes everything look brighter! Bellingrath Gardens Magic Christmas in Lights

Is there an annual attraction or experience you’ve always admired from afar, thinking “Man, that’s something I’d love to see”? I have an entire bucket list of these, and last night was an exciting chance for me to mark one of them off! Seeing Bellingrath Gardens Magic Christmas in Lights finally became a reality for me, and it was even more amazing than I’d always imagined it would be. Yesterday afternoon all six of us, along with two friends of ours and their sweet daughter, G, loaded up and headed to Bellingrath Gardens (just outside of Mobile, Alabama) for an evening of fun. Originally a fishing camp purchased for relaxation by Walter Bellingrath, Mobile’s original Coca-Cola bottler, Bellingrath Gardens is a high-priority destination for lovers of beautiful horticulture, gardening, and history. His wife, Bessie, was well-known in Mobile for her gardening skills, particularly her azaleas, and began bringing cuttings from her plants out to the fishing camp. The Gardens grew more impressive each year, but grew phenomenally after the Bellingraths toured luxurious gardens throughout Europe. Happy Thanksgiving, Everyone! If you’re watching the Macy’s Day Parade and are looking for a fun activity for the kids (or yourself) here’s an awesome idea!
