One of the best parts about being Southern is the FOOD! We have a seemingly endless supply of amazing recipes and cooks to spare, so naturally on holidays food takes the center stage. For most of my life I’ve been eating the Traditional Southern New Year’s Day Meal and been told that the various dishes bring good luck for the New Year, but I never really knew the origin of the beliefs attached to them. Until now.
